However, I continue to train and educate myself constantly, attending lectures, seminars and conferences to keep myself fully informed of all innovative dental developments. My main priority is to create a trusting relationship with the patient. For this reason, I always make sure that I eliminate any stress the patient may have during their first visit, providing him with personalised care and service, thus making their visit a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

DENTAL TIPS

  • Don’t forget to visit the dentist every six months to have your teeth cleaned.
  • One of the doctors that a pregnant woman should visit during pregnancy or even better just before getting pregnant is a dentist as the teeth are significantly strained during pregnancy.
  • During pregnancy, the increase in estrogen and progesterone results in an increase in dental plaque. Thus, there are more chances of the pregnant woman developing gingivitis or even periodontitis.
  • The more times we eat during the day without brushing our teeth afterwards, the higher the risk of developing tooth decay.
  • Poor oral hygiene can affect overall health; studies have shown that there is a link between gum disease and heart disease. In pregnant women, poor oral hygiene can lead to premature delivery or underweight babies.
  • Do not forget to brush not only your teeth but also your tongue and cheeks.
  • Hold the mouthwash for 30 seconds.
  • Use a dental floss or interdental brush as needed after brushing.
  • Do not make hasty movements when brushing.
  • Stick to brushing the chewing surfaces.
  • Follow the 2*2 rule for your oral hygiene i.e., brush for 2 minutes twice a day.
  • Use an electric toothbrush for better cleaning of your teeth only if you use it properly.
  • Choose a medium or soft toothbrush and not a hard one because you may injure your gums.
  • Change your manual toothbrush or electric toothbrush head every 3 months.
